ARSENAL ON SIX GOALS RAMPAGE






ARSENAL back to their level best with a stunning six goals  thumping off Blackburn at the Emirates Stadium yesterday. The visitor twice had taken the lead but Arsene Wenger's men refuse to back-up reply simultaneously. Once they took a 3-2 lead, there was no turning back for the Gunners as they continued relentlessly adding three more goals for their fifth wins in the league.

Midfield maestro, Cesc Fabregas creator of all the four goals single-handed send Sam Allardyce's men packing completed the rout, driving home a left footed volley on the edge of the box to add Blackburn's misery, a repeat of 2006/07 score line under former manager, Mark Hughes.

In the opening minutes it was Blackburn who drew first blood. French defender Steven Nzonzi outjump Thomas Vermaelen before sending a looping header over Vito Mannone who was caught of position for a 1-0 lead. Arsenal back on level terms through Vermaelen with an unstoppable powerful shot past former Spurs keeper Robinson from Fabregas.

Blackburn's David Dunn put the visitor back in front after his shot took a cruel deflection of defender William Gallas, rolls past helpless Mannone the wrong way. The Arsenal captain, Fabregas then showed the way with a perfect slide rule pass on Robin Van Persie to hit home for the equaliser.


The visitor early goals did disturb on the home team earlier display but once they took a 3-2 lead through Andre Arshavin thanks to the Arsenal's captain superb quality pass inside the Blackburn's defense, gave the home team much needed advantage before the break.

In the second half, it was no turning back for Arsenal and they were back in the groove  once again with Fabregas gave another sheer class performance, knocking a left footed volley right at the edge of the box to give Arsenal a 4-2 lead.

Arsene Wenger then rested Thomas Rosicky for Theo Walcott. The youngster marks his return with goal  number five after a fine run from Arshavin, find Fabregas who flick through  nicely  for Walcott to slot home.  Nicklas Bendtner coming on for Fabregas hits a scorcher as a perfect gift to mark the celebrations for their Arsenal longest serving manager.

With the win, Arsenal climbs to the fourth of the table with 15 points level on points with Liverpool behind leaders Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs.
