Liverpool took the lead against the run of play after the break through inform David Ngog when he rammed in an unstoppable shot into the top right hand corner from an acute angle past Manuel Almunia in the 47th minute.
But Arsenal drew level from

Arsene Wenger field 18th-year-old Jack Willshere in the starting eleven for the first time was a pale shadow of himself. Willshere who won his first senior international cap during England- Hungary friendly match last Wednesday misjudge Andre Arshavin pass just outside the Arsenal penalty box that brought to Liverpool's first goal. He then was replace by Tomas Rosicky.
Argentine captain, Javier Mascherano who was in the headlines for his unsettled transfer exit to Barcelona in the week. Despite the circumstances, it did not disrupt Liverpool's new manager Roy Hodgson plan to field the midfielder.
The match could be treat as the tale of two debutant's Joe Cole for Liverpool and defender Laurent Koncielny for Arsenal went both were dismiss by referee Mark Atkinson for obvious reason.
Joe Cole late challenge on Laurent Koncielny saw the former Chelsea man were given a straight red card for a dangerous tackle late in the first half. While Koncielny received his marching order for deliberate handball for his second yellow in the match.
Arsenal had more off the possession but fail to break down through the Liverpool stout defence lead by Jamie Carragher and Mark Skrtel whom combines very well. Both teams struggle to get their act together and they need to improve drastically if they really want to challenge Manchester United and reigning champions Chelsea for the title.
For new manager Roy Hodgson who was just few minutes away from clinching a memorable victory in his managerial debut in front of 44,000 full house Liverpool fans could only just settle for a draw which was quite a fair results for both teams.
