Arsenal's crown as Emirates Cup 2010 Champions |
Arsenal won the Emirates Cup 2010 edition when they edge Celtic 3-2 in their second match played at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.
Arsenal dominated the match and they are in cruise-control when they took a healthy 3-0 lead.
Mexican international Carlos Vela
scored the opening goal after Jack Wilshere who was selected as the man of the match found Theo Walcott on the right for the England's World Cup drop-out to drive in a low cross for Vela to slide home.

Then it was Bacary Sagna who made it 2-0 with a wonderful strike under the diving arms of Celtic goalkeeper, Lukasz Zaluska. Earlier, the 18th year-old Wilshere should have cap a memorable performance when he connected Tomas Rosicky corner kick with a powerful volley but was tip over brilliantly by the Celtic keeper.
Samir Nasri then made it 3-0 when cooly slotted home a fine pass from Walcott. But Celtic surge forward with subsitute Samaras playing the key role in their two-goals to reduce the deficit. It should have been 3-3 if Samaras had not balloned his penalty kick earlier.
