BIRMINGHAM City boss Alex Mcleish got what they really wanted to upstage favourites Arsenal with a simple game plan to land his first major trophy in Premier League the Carling Cup at Wembley last night. They packed their defence in numbers and put on enormous pressure towards the Arsenal central defenders (weakest link) and its work.
Even Championship and League One sides such as Leeds United, Huddersfield, Ipswich and Leyton-Orient knows that and they just need to focus on getting the long ball and putting huge amount of pressure into the Arsenal defence and it did produce results.

Earlier Arsenal were trailing by Nicola Zigic header in the 27th minute but Robin Van Persie equalise seven minutes before the break for Arsenal to get back in the match. Birmingham goalkeeper Ben Foster played brilliantly in goal continuously kept his side in the match producing exceptional saves. He then was named as man of the match.
But that is the reality for Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger to deal with. Arsenal did not have an outstanding strong central defender and experience goalkeeper and likely it will keep on going until the end of the season-again empty handed.
So now next on the list is FA Cup sixth round replay against underdogs League One side Leyton-Orient on Wednesday at the Emirates Stadium before taking on Sunderland in the Premier League match in the weekend. So let just sit tight and watch.
