ROBIN VAN PERSIE DOWN WITH KNEE INJURY WILL MISS BARCA TRIP

ROBIN VAN PERSIE has handed Arsenal a Champions League blow after being ruled out for three weeks.

The Dutchman was forced out of Sunday's Carling Cup final defeat to Birmingham with a knee injury he sustained while scoring.

And he is definitely out of next Tuesday's last-16 return leg in Barcelona.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger confirmed: "We had bad news on the scan and he will be out for the next three weeks for sure.
"It could be longer. The shortest delay we can imagine is three weeks, so he is definitely out for Barcelona."
Van Persie will also miss tomorrow night's FA Cup fifth-round replay against Leyton Orient and the Premier League games against Sunderland and West Brom.
Wenger is optimistic, though, that Cesc Fabregas will be fit to face Barcelona, describing the skipper as a "possible" for the crunch tie.
