ARSENAL STILL IN THE RACE ON FOUR FRONTS

ARSENAL registered their sixth consecutive league win with a 2-1 defeat of Everton at the Emirates last night. Everton shocked the home side through a controversial Louis Saha goal in the 23rd minute. Substitute Andre Arshavin then put the Gunners on level terms in the 70th minute. Before defender Laurent Koscielny deliver the winning goal five minutes later for his second premier league goal.

Everton made a bright start and did give a good account of themselves and David Moyes's men certainly did not came at the Emirates to lie down. With Marouane Fellani outstanding in the visitor midfield engine room, winning almost every tackle making it harder for the home side.

But in the 15th minute it was Arsene Wenger's side who nearly broke the deadlock. Cesc Fabregas pin point pass finds Robin Van Persie. With three defenders around him the Dutchmen cheeky back heel perfectly freed the on-rushing Fabregas but the Spaniard choose to rammed it wide.

Six minutes later, Theo Walcott had a glorious opportunity in the box when he rifled in a shot from close range but Tim Howard made a good save to deny the youngster in the box.

In the 23rd minute then came Everton controversial goal. Seamus Coleman made a pass but it came off from Arsenal defender, Laurent Koscielny straight into Louis Saha who was clearly in an offside position. With one quick turn the Frenchmen strike it with his left foot past the diving Wojciech Szczesny.

Arsenal reply back and twice they came close finding the equaliser through Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie but they fail to capitalised on both occasion.

In the second half Arsene Wenger introduce Andre Arshavin for Tomas Rosicsky and the Little Russian quick to make an impact when he notch in the equaliser in the 70th minute. It was quite similar to Louis Saha earlier goal. Fabregas launch a quick pass over the Everton defence. Jack Rodwell headed it back towards Tim Howard but fell into Arshavin path who took it straight on the volley.

The goal came in just at the right moment to give Arsenal amount of time to find the winning goal. In the 74th minute Tim Howard made a brilliant save to deny Robin Van Persie free-kick for a corner kick to Arsenal. The Dutchmen took the corner kick himself find Koscielny who was unmarked to thump in a free header.

David Moyes's made a double substitution for Gary Neville and Seamus Coleman with Victor Anichebe and Jagielka to save the match but fails to create any clear cut chances.

With five minutes added time, left back Gael Clichy easily should have wrapped the match for Arsenal when he burst past several defenders into the Everton box. With Tim Howard to beat the defender blew the chance by making a square pass to Nicklas Bendtner instead of taking a shot himself.
