MANCHESTER City Roberto Mancini's side defended well to stop Arsenal from getting all the three points after they held the Gunners to a scoreless draw at the Emirates Stadium last night. With a point being shared by both team, City remain in the second spot while Arsene Wenger's men stuck in the third spot.
Arsene Wenger made no changes from the side that beat Birmingham 3-0 in the previous match. They start furiously searching for an early goal. Eighteen-year-old Jack Wilshire twice nearly gave the home side the lead early in the match.
First his effort went begging across the goalmouth with Robin Van Persie slide in just a fractions of second late to connect. Then his powerful left footed drive went straight at goalkeeper Joe Hart.
In the 8th minute Robin Van Persie wonderful shot struck the upright with Hart already beaten. It was all Arsenal and the visitor was under tremendous pressure and was lucky to survive the early scare.
Despite being pinned down by the home side the City side fails to make any headway. In the 23rd minute Theo Walcott lovely turn in the box drill in a shot but just few inches wide of target.
Then it was Cesc Fabregas turns to hit the same upright after being set up nicely by Samir Nasri just outside the box.
Arsenal was in constant threat dominate the match throughout the first half with City soaking up the pressure.
In the second half it was the same old story with Arsenal doing most of the attacking. In the 60th minute Robin Van Persie nearly put the home side into the lead. The Dutchmen left footed drive was going into the net but Hart pull off a wonderful save.
With five minutes remaining both teams sees red when referee Mike Jones send off Zabaletta and Bacary Sagna into the tunnel for a headbutting.
