SAM'S VIEW ON ARSENAL VS TOTENHAM HOTSPURS MATCH

Arsenal  took another huge step further in their quest  for the Premier league title which eluded them for the last four years with an astounding 3-0 win over their bitter rivals Totenham Hotspurs  to confirm their status as the top dog North London in a London derby match at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.

Spurs hoping  that they would have any chance of repeating with another kind of perfomance from their last visit at the Emirates last season but it never came by. By right they should thanks their goalkeeper Heurelho Gomez for his magnificent goalkeeping, saves all the blushes from suffering  much heavier defeat.

Arsene Wenger started Manuel Almunia in goal for the first time but his side continously  being frustrated with the defensive quality shown by their opponents back four led by Ledly King and Sebastian Bassong early in the match.

Arsenal led by captain Cesc Fabregas fails to create any clear chances in front of goal but in the 30th minute they nearly took the lead. Gael Clichy robbed the ball off David Bently inside the Arsenal half finds Arshavin. The Russian quickly turns,  surge toward the box let fly a powerful drive which was blocked by King. The ball drop perfectly for Fabregas who struck a vicious left footer but the former PSV Eindhoven keeper made a glorious save when he plunge to his left to deny the  captain for his team first goal.

When it seems to look like a scoreless first half, Robin Van Persie continued his scoring  prowess caught the Spurs defenders napping when he first to react from Bacary Sagna low cross  hits first time past Gomez at the near post to give Arsene Wenger men a 1-0 lead.

Cesc  Fabregas then produce the best  moment  of the match 11 seconds rights from the kick-off single handed runs through the middle of Spurs defence and hits a powerful  drive which gave Gomez no chance before the break.

In the second half, Harry Redknapp replace the non effective Huddlestone with Gareth Bale to boost the left side of midfield. But Bale fail to give any positive impact towards the match.

Spurs did have a chance to score when former Arsenal player David Bentley free-kick was tipp over the bar by Almunia.

Arsenal were home and dry then, when referee Mark Clattenburg allow the advantage for  Sagna who made another fine cross between King and Gomez for Van Persie to pick up his second in the match. ( I still recall the same incident happen during the Arsenal Invincible days between Spurs against Arsenal when the referee allows the advantage for Robbie Keane to score.)

Eduardo whom earlier replaced Bendtner suffering from groin injury in the first half had two glorious chance to add more misery for Harry Redknapp men. Suprisingly the striker who was quite deadly in the box fail to deliver on both occassion.

For Harry Redknapp your men needs to buck up. Spurs had played all the Big Four teams,  win  against Liverpool but lost against Manchester United, Chelsea and of course today is Arsenal. Big hurdle awaited them to have any chance to overtake Arsenal which today result demonstrated to that. Remember Harry you have another tough job on the line to defend the Carling Cup. Who's your opponent next in the Quarter-final.. it is Manchester United. A repeat  of last year final. For Arsenal they will have to travel to the Maine Road to meet Adebayor and company.
