Arshavin is back in contention

ARSENAL 6

COVENTRY 1

ARSENAL march into the fourth round Capital One Cup with another thumping 6-1 win against Championship side Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium.

As we all hope, at last Oliver Giroud did find the net with a dink shot six minutes before the break to open the floodgate.

But the big question lies whether the French Ligue top scorer did have the ingredients to be a worthy goalscoring machine when he miss from the spot.

Oliver Giroud started the rout
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored Arsenal second goal with a ferocious right-footer into the back of the net in the 57th minute. Andrei Arshavin then neatly stucked in the third (63rd min) before Theo Walcott adding the fourth.

The visitor replied back through Callum Ball  but defender Ignasi Miquel plant in a header before Walcott wrapped up the match with his second of the night in injury time.

Arsenal will face Reading in the fourth round at Madejski Stadium.
