CARLING CUP QUARTERFINALS - It's still a young Arsenal Carling Cup side

Arsène Wenger insists his Carling Cup team is as youthful as ever, it’s just not as obvious as before. 


The manager’s policy of giving youngsters the opportunity to cut their teeth in previous seasons seems to have been overlooked on the surface this time around, though look a little deeper and you can see Wenger’s point.

ARSENAL ON REDEMPTION - WIN 4-2 AGAINST ASTON VILLA

REDEMPTION Arsenal registered their fifth away 4-2 victory against Aston Villa to go top of the Barclays Premier League table in pulsating six goal thriller at Villa Park. But the excitement was short lived after Manchester United thrashed Blackburn 7-1 at the Old Trafford just few hours later.

ARSENAL Champions League chances took a jolt when they suffered another shock 2-0 away defeat to FC Braga in their Group H match at the Estadio Municipal De Braga last night. Two goals by Brazilian's Matheus in the last seven minutes saw Braga level on points but remain third in the standings.

ARSENAL HOME FORM MUST IMPROVED

MAROUNE Chamakh still believes Arsenal will bounce back after their disastrous 2-3 defeat  against Spurs in the North London derby match at the Emirates last Saturday.

Former Bordeaux striker said the current Arsenal side is still not at their best of form and once they did everything will fit in nicely into their places.

Marouane Chamakh scored both goals as Arsenal bounced back from their weekend home defeat with a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in their Premier League clash at Molineux.
The Moroccan striker opened the scoring after only 37 seconds, the fastest goal in this season's Premier League.
And moments after a superb injury-time save from Lukasz Fabianski, the summer signing from Bordeaux secured the victory with his second.
It was the Gunners’ 11th successive victory against Wolves in all competitions and gives Arsene Wenger‘s side a welcome boost after consecutive defeats to Shakhtar Donetsk and Newcastle.

ANDY CAROLL GUNNER DOWN 1-0

NEWCASTLE UNITED notch a memorable triumph at the Emirates with a shocking 1-0 win against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last night. 

Striker Andy Caroll was the toast of the Magpies when he scored a terrific header for his sixth Premier League goals late in the first half to stun the Emirates for their second-home defeat.


One thing for sure it was Newcastle great team effort was their key to their success and the belief they build up from their 5-1 thrashing of Sunderland seven days earlier was the perfect tonic they needs to launch them up to the fifth spot in the Premier League table.
