ARSENAL MARCH INTO THE FIFTH ROUND - CARLING CUP 2010

Theo Walcott score a double
ARSENAL second stringer wiped out Newcastle United 4-0 to moved into the fifth round of the Carling Cup 2010 at St. James Park last night. An own goal by the Magpies goalkeeper Tim Krul, Nicklas Bendtner and a double by Theo Walcott saw the Gunners advance into the quarterfinals for their eight successive time.

ARSENAL DRILL DOWN THE CITY SLICKERS 3-0

ARSENAL send megabucks spenders Manchester City licking their wounds when they went down crashing to a 3-0 defeat at the Eastlands last night. Goals by Samir Nasri (20th), Alexander Song (65th) and substitute Nicklas Bendtner in 87th minute was enough to avenge their 4-2 loss last season.

ARSENAL flexed their goalscoring muscles to blow apart the Ukranians, who we all thought would provide more of an attacking threat.

And, in doing so, they have virtually qualified for the knockout stages - despite completing only half their group games.
On this evidence, Group H in this year's Champions League stands for HOPELESS as the quality of opposition - Braga and Partizan Belgrade included - is not what you would expect at this level.

ARSENAL BACK TO THEIR WINNING WAYS

ARSENAL back to their winning ways with a 2-1 defeat of Birmingham City at the Emirates Stadium today. Serbian Nicola Zigic shocked the home side to give Alex Mcleish's men a 1-0 lead in 32nd minute with a looping header. Arsenal drew level  through Samir Nasri penalty in the 40th minute. Maroune Chamakh scored the winner three minute into the second half.

YOUNG AARON RAMSEY WON WALES YOUNG PLAYER OF YEAR AWARD

Aaron Ramsey has been named Wales Young Player of the Year at an awards ceremony in Cardiff.

The Arsenal midfielder was honoured at the Brains FAW Awards Evening on Monday despite spending much of the year recovering from the broken leg he suffered against Stoke City in February.

Ramsey, who also won the Young Player award last year, produced a man of the match performance for Wales against Scotland at the start of 2010 and is regarded as his country's most promising young talent.- News from Arsenal FC

CHAMAKH'S GOAL WON SEPTEMBER GOAL AWARD OF THE MONTH

Arsenal fans have voted Marouane Chamakh's strike against Braga as our September Goal of the Month.

The Moroccan star exchanged passes with Jack Wilshere before finishing expertly to give Arsenal a three-goal lead in their opening Champions League match in Group H. They went on to win 6-0.
Marouane's first European strike for the Club received 19 per cent of the votes to win our monthly award.
It was a close run thing though. Carlos Vela's goal against Bolton, following a marathon build-up, claimed 16 per cent of the votes while Cesc Fabregas' freakish strike at Sunderland was just behind in third.- news from Arsenal FC

DIDIER Drogba continues to haunt Arsenal as the striker guided Chelsea to a comfortable 2-0 win to extend their lead at the top of the table with 18 points at Stamford Bridge last night. Drogba opened the score in the 38th minute with a cheeky back-heel at the near post and defender Alex blast an unstoppable free-kick in the 84th minute to give Carlo Ancelotti's side another famous victory.
