MANCHESTER United showed there is still life without the charasmatic Cristiano Ronaldo with a championship's kind of performance that brought the Premier League Title to Old Trafford last season to demolish Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, yesterday.
Last season it was Portugal's favourite son, Cristiano Ronaldo broke the heart of many Arsenal fans this time around another Portuguese's Nani stole the limelight at the Emirates with some breathtaking display.
Earlier, Arsene Wenger had high hopes for his men could produce another classy performance to emulate their 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford against the former champions. But Nani's and co prove otherwise and brought the home side down to earth in front of their home fans.
Both teams did started well with fast attacking display from end to end that lives to the both fans expectation. Arsenal looks to have create more chances through Andre Arshavin but the Russian blew it. Muffing several golden opportunities with only Arsenal former legend Thiery Henry could have easily deliver in that sort kind of situation which did cost the home side the match.
Judging the performance of goalkeeper Manuel Almunia seems not helping at all. Again his blunder gave the visitor a 1-0 lead. He completely misjudged Nani's cross from the right and instead palmed the ball into his own net.
Before the home side could put up their act together, Wayne Rooney added Arsenal misery with Manchester United second goal. The striker cooly finished off the move he started right from United's half combines well with Nani to give the visitor a 2-0 lead before the break.
In the second half Arsenal uplift the tempo but again their were on the recieveing end when Korean's Park Ji Sung scored United third goal. Arsenal reduced the deficit 3-1 through defender Thomas Vermalaen but it was already to late to save the match.
