Gervinho..man in form for Arsenal |
Arsenal started unconvincingly and they
certainly looks lethargic despite playing at the Emirates. With the rain
starting to pour in, the slippery pitch didn’t help it either and the home side
struggling to get their act together.
They just couldn't create any real opening and the visitor really making it so difficult for Arsene Wenger’s side to find the much needed breakthrough.
The home side certainly looks second best in many department while the visitor remain calm as they gradually took control and they were nearly rewarded. Arsenal's skipper Thomas Vermalaen uncharasteristic gift to Machado, who looks dangerous at times suprisingly fail to connect cleanly to give Leonardo Jardim's side the lead.
But again the man in form,Gervinho grabbed the long-awaited goal which brought much relief for the home side in 42nd minute. Again like in previous matches whenever they took the lead they couldn't hold for long. Another sloppy defending saw tall figure Mitroglu challenge a cross from Jose Holebas on the left. Which saw his glancing header flew in at the far post with Vito Mannone already beaten in stoppage time.
Just four minutes into the second half, Santi Cazorla had a glorious chance to put Arsenal back in the lead. Gervinho cut in from the left square perfectly for the unmarked Spaniard
in the box but he fails to guide the ball on target.
Ramsey...Arsenal 3rd goal |
From now on, Arsenal looks a much better side. In the 56th minute Lukas Podolski then burst into the box to meet Gerivnho cross and hit a low drive which slipped through under goalkeeper, Myegri legs.
Six minutes later they could easily double their lead but Koscielny header flew over the bar from Cazorla corner-kick.
Substitute Aaron Ramsey coming for Podolski added Arsenal's third to put the the match beyond doubt in injury time. The Welsh's captain time his run perfectly from Mannone goal kick after Oliver Giroud nicely guided into his path to lift the ball past the onrushing Myegri for Arsenal second straight wins.
