ARSENAL 1-0 WIN PUT THE BRAKES ON MAN UNITED

WITH the thought that Arsenal are very unlikely to win the Premier League this season, but tonight victory did gives them an outside chance for the Gunners to contest for the title. Chelsea now stand only three points behind Manchester United and go to Old Trafford next weekend.

Arsene Wenger's side won with a goal from Aaron Ramsey in the 56th minute, whose career has been disrupted by injury, but may have quaked near the end when Gaël Clichy's studs made contact with the calf of the substitute Michael Owen. The referee, Chris Foy took no action and was at least consistent here in his scepticism towards such appeals.
But if Foy had given a penalty 12 minutes before the interval when Nemanja Vidic had his left arm stretched and made contact with a cross from Theo Walcott then Foy certainly would certainly treat the same.
The young Welshman started the move to find his captain Robin Van Persie on the right. The Dutch international then jinx himself away into the box before laying the ball perfectly for Ramsey to hit a low drive just past the stretching right arm of Van Der Sar for his first goal in the Premier League this season.
