ARSENAL MOVES ON TOP OF BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE

ARSENAL climbs up to the top of the Barclay's English Premier League when they defeated Fulham 2-1 in a North and South West London Derby match at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
French midfielder, Samir Nasri stole the limelight as he capped a magnificent  performance by scoring two goals in their 2-1 victory over Mark Hughes men, to send Arsenal on top after league leaders Manchester United match against Blackpool was postponed due to bad weather.

Samir Nasri who was announced as the French footballer of the year open the scoring as early in the 12th minute with a perfect laid pass by Andre Arshavin. The midfielder shows a wonderful composure cuts in from the right invited two challenge before picking his spot.

From then on, it was a one-sided-affair with the free flowing Arsenal creating as many chances but goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer proved to be the stumbling block on a few occasions. Arsenal will feel guilty of missing gilt edge chances which saw the visitor drew level.

In the 29th minute a clash of heads between Arsenal defenders Squillachi and Koncielny saw the visitor took the advantage with Diomansy Kamara quick to latch on Clint Dempsey pass to put Fulham level.

Koncielny then was replaced by Johan Djorou. Both teams came close to scoring with Chamakh and Kamara at both ends nearly put their side into the lead.

In the second half another of Samir Nasri feat this time demonstrated by Russian's Andre Arshavin. The Russian with a lovely quick feet saw Mark Schwarzer made a top draw save in 56th minute to deny the home side the upper hand.

Then came in Nasri's second goal. He worked his way into the box relay a quick pass to substitute Robin Van Persie. The Dutch made a perfect return pass for the Frenchman. He then evade a defender beating Schwarzer and made a full 90 degrees turns before sending the ball into the net at an acute angle.

Yet again, Arsenal nearly blew it with Fulham coming twice to grab a late equaliser. First from Etuhu his shot was just a few inches off target. He then set up perfectly with his chest for Zoltan Gera to strike. But Fabianski repaid his boss faith to dives full length to push the ball away for Arsenal 10th Premier League wins.
